Hotel Cielo Rojo strives to provide our guests with the finest local, organic and sustainable experience — from organic cotton sheets and locally made artisanal soaps, to award-winning olive oil, teas, tequila, organic produce and coffee. All of the excellent products we have selected are produced here in Mexico.
Bistro Organico, our garden restaurant, offers a delicious “farm to table” dining experience. Utilizing locally grown, organic, seasonal, sustainable produce sourced from regional farmers, our chef creates vibrant dishes that celebrate the region. The hotel’s evolving selection of local wines, 90% of which are from Mexico, are sourced by our sister company, Sayulita Wine Shop.

OUR BEGINNINGS
In 2005, Gisela Marin was driving down the coast of Nayarit and saw a sign that read, “San Francisco.” Intrigued, she turned into San Pancho for the first time and wandered through the pueblo’s narrow cobblestone streets, watching residents ride by on horseback and local artisans sell handmade wares. Gisela was struck with an instant desire to lay down roots. Although she’d never considered running a hotel, she made a call to her former partner and pitched her wild idea. After a renovation, Hotel Cielo Rojo officially opened its doors later that same year.
Eighteen years later, Hotel Cielo Rojo continues to evolve with its growing collection of antiques and artwork steeped in Mexico’s rich history and traditions. Gisela is also a partner in the Sayulita Wine Shop, opened in nearby Sayulita in 2015, which provides the hotel with an evolving selection of high quality artisan wine, mezcal and tequila made by small producers from Mexico and across the globe. Besides the wine, fine spirits, and other upscale beverages, the wine shop also carries certified Cuban cigars, cheeses, and fine chocolate. There are, as well, many elegant accessories available, including jewelry, gentlemen's items and a selection of historic, vintage flasks, decanters and glasses.
BREAKFAST
We serve a complimentary breakfast of coffee or tea, and our “cup of life”, a bowl of seasonal fruits with homemade yogurt and granola from 8–10am daily. Our breakfast menu also has additional breakfast entrees available for purchase.
CONCIERGE: TOURS, ACTIVITIES & SPA SERVICES
Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will gladly assist you in effectively planning your time during your stay. We can offer restaurant recommendations and information about upcoming local cultural events. We offer wine and tequila tastings at our nearby Sayulita Wine Shop. Activities such as surf lessons, fishing, whale watching, hiking, ziplining, and horseback riding are available. We can arrange group tours to Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara/Tequila, picturesque neighboring towns, or a trip to the incredible Marietta Islands for an eco-adventure you’ll never forget. Spanish lessons and many other cultural activities are available as well.

PETS: COMFORTABLE PET-FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATIONS
We get it. Pets are part of the family, and you hate to leave them behind. Hotel Cielo Rojo welcomes your dog and offers amenities tailored expressly for your four-legged friend. You and your pet will find yourselves right at home both in town or at the beach, which has a dog-friendly, off-leash policy.
We charge a $1,000 peso non-refundable daily pet fee, which is limited to one well-mannered dog per guest room (up to 20 kgs/40 lbs). Guests must register their dog in advance to receive amenities, which include a welcome dog toy, dog mat, and water bowl placed in your room during your stay. Dogs must be accompanied and leashed when on hotel property. We ask that guests kindly pick up your dog’s waste and dispose of it properly. Owners are responsible for any damage incurred by their pet. Any damage to the room or hotel will be charged to guest at check-out.
OTHER AMENITIES
Beach umbrellas, beach towels, and bicycles are available for guests. Same-day laundry and evening babysitting can be arranged. We offer special event and wedding coordination, as well as full-service catering for any size group or occasion.
Our swimming pool is available only to registered guests 13 years and older. It is located 200 yards from our lobby, at our sister property Casa Nyali. Admission is subject to capacity limits.
